Anthony H. Son

Anthony H. Son serves as Financial Director of The Voice of the Caribbean, South Florida’s #1 Caribbean radio station, broadcasting 24 hours a day across Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach. He brings a career in finance and accounting to an industry where the product is airtime and the inventory is measured in seconds.
Before finance, there was the tour. Anthony competed as a professional tennis player on the men’s circuit from 1986 to 1998 — twelve years of a career that rewards preparation over improvisation and teaches, above all, that success is built point by point rather than won in a single swing. It is a discipline that translates cleanly to the ledger: the same patience, the same attention to margins, the same understanding that consistency compounds.
His work spans the station’s commercial engine: rate card and daypart pricing, advertiser billing and collections, inventory sell-through, and the budgeting and forecasting that keep VOC’s leadership clear on where the station stands month to month. He partners closely with sales to make sure every proposal is priced sustainably, and with programming to make sure the budget supports the shows and cultural coverage that keep listeners tuned in.
He is also heard on the air. Anthony co-hosts The Global Brief, Mondays and Tuesdays from 1 to 2 PM — a seat on the other side of the glass that keeps him close to the audience the business exists to serve, and a reminder that every line in the budget eventually becomes something a listener hears.
Anthony’s focus is on the long game — strengthening cash flow, diversifying revenue, and building the financial foundation to extend the reach of the region’s leading Caribbean voice. For him, the numbers are never the point. They’re what keeps that voice on the air.
