Jamaica International Music Awards Celebrates Excellence in Caribbean Music

The 2025 JIMA ceremony featured electrifying performances from reggae, dancehall, gospel and fusion artists, including unforgettable sets by Worl-A-Girl, Etana, Mad Cobra, and Lady G. The audience was treated to a blend of classic hits and new anthems, highlighting the diversity and creativity that define Caribbean music.

Among the night’s top honorees were Shenseea, who took home the coveted Album of the Year award (Female), and although she was unable to attend, she sent her son, Rajeiro Lee, to accept several wins on her behalf.  Other winners included reggae icon Nadine Sutherland, recognized for Outstanding International Achievement, and the Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to legendary dancehall artist, Lady G , celebrating decades of groundbreaking contributions to the genre.

“This year’s awards not only recognized musical excellence but also the resilience and unity of our creative community,” said Michael “Mikey Mike” Downer of Voice of the Caribbean Radio, Executive Director of JIMA. “We are proud to honor the artists and professionals whose work continues to elevate Caribbean music on the global stage.”
